The Close Protection Refresher Course is a mandatory requirement for operatives renewing their SIA Close Protection licence. This course ensures learners remain compliant with current SIA regulations while refreshing critical operational and physical skills required to continue working in specialist protection roles.
Designed for experienced Close Protection Operatives, the refresher focuses on maintaining professional standards, legal awareness, and practical competence in line with SIA refresher requirements.
Training revisits and updates the following key areas:
- Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives (Refresher)
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives (Refresher)
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)
This course supports uninterrupted employment by ensuring operatives meet the latest licensing and operational expectations set by the SIA.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold a current or recently expired SIA Close Protection licence (within the SIA renewal period)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must speak English fluently
- Must provide valid identification and proof of address
