You must pass a basic level English assessment before you attend this course. You will need to be at least 18 years old, have proof of ID and proof of address.
Documents Required for Registration
- 1x Proof of ID: e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, UK Birth Certificate
- 2x Proof of Address (issued within the last 3 months): e.g. Bank Statements, Utility Bills, Official Letters, Mortgage Statements, P60/P45, Council Tax Statements, etc.
- 2x Passport-sized Photos in Colour

What's included in the course?
(Practical assessment of each learner will be visually recorded, approximately 15 minutes per learner)
It is mandatory for all applicants applying for a security licence to have a valid Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent. The qualification must be valid for at least one year.

- Recognise verbal and non-verbal communication techniques

- Demonstrate working with colleagues to de-escalate conflict situations

Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
- Identify the risk factors involved with the use of physical intervention
- Recognise the signs and symptoms associated with acute behavioural disturbance (ABD)
and psychosis - State the specific risks associated with positional asphyxia
- State the specific risks associated with prolonged physical interventions
- Identify how to deal with physical interventions on the ground appropriately
- State how to manage and monitor a person’s safety during physical intervention
- Demonstrate stance and positioning skills
- Demonstrate skills used to evade and protect against blows
- Demonstrate methods of disengagement from grabs and holds
- Demonstrate non-aggressive intervention methods to stop assaults or fights
- Communicate professionally throughout the physical intervention
- Demonstrate how to physically prompt a person
- Demonstrate low-level restrictive standing holds that can be used to escort an individual
- Demonstrate low-level restrictive standing one and two person holds that can be used to
escort an individual - Demonstrate transitions between disengagement techniques and escorting techniques

When can I apply for a SIA licence?
You can apply for an SIA licence after your receive your certificate from us. You may need to wait 2-3 working days however for the qualification to be linked to your SIA account.
Do I get any help from Nepbridge Services while applying for my SIA licence?
We are happy to assist you with your SIA licence application. Simply contact us and one of our experienced team members will guide you through the process for a small administration fee.
When will I receive my results?
Your results and electronic copies of your certificates will be sent to you via email within 7-14 working days after your exams.
What do I do if I fail my course?
You will have the option to retake exams for the failed module/s at a later date at one of our offices
How can I pay for this course?
You will receive an invoice via email once you have been registered onto our system. You will be able to pay directly using your credit/debit card.
How long is my SIA licence valid for?
Your SIA licence is valid for 3 years. You will have to renew your licence every 3 years.
What jobs can I do with a Door Supervisor licence?
With a Door Supervisor licence, you can work as a door supervisor, security guard, event security, airport security and many more other roles. This licence allows you to work in licensed premises such as bars and nightclubs.
